July 1, 2011. Food handlers hired on or after June 1, 2011 have to obtain a food handler card within 30 days after the date of hire.

Course Description:
This course covers food safety issues, regulations, and techniques to maintain a food-safe environment. It will help you to better understand how handling food correctly is not only the law, but also improves safety and lowers cost as well.

State Requirments:
This food handler training course covers all topics discussed in California Senate Bill 602
and chaptered as section 113948 in the California Health and Safety Code.

How long is the access period?
Only until December 31, 2011.
In 2012, this course must be accredited by ANSI standard ASTM e2659 according to newly proposed SB 303.

Description:
This package combines Learn2Serve’s approved CA Responsible Beverage Service Off Premise Course with our LA County Certified Food Handlers Training and our CA AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Course.
CA Responsible Beverage Service Off Premise Course – This course provides you with the necessary knowledge and techniques you need to be a responsible seller of alcohol. Specifically, you will learn how to protect yourself and your establishment from liability; how alcohol affects your customers; how to recognize the effects of alcohol on your customers; how to prevent customers from becoming intoxicated; how to intervene when you need to refuse a sale to someone; how to prevent and deal with disturbances; how to accurately check IDs and recognize minors; how to prevent second-party sales and loitering; and how to refuse a sale. This course is approved by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and is valid for two years.
LA County Certified Food Handlers Training - This course covers food safety issues, regulations, and techniques to maintain a food-safe environment. It will help you to better understand how handling food correctly is not only the law, but it improves safety and lowers cost as well.
CA AB1825 Sexual Harassment - The new law, effective January 2005, requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide at least two hours of "classroom or other effective interactive training" to all supervisory employees on the prevention of sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation.
